Hey all.

My cpu is reaching 100% cpu usage in some games, but I am suffering no fps or performance issues.

Games like COD Warzone, rainbow siege and a few others I cant recall atm peak at 100%.

Hardware

I7 9700K @ 4.8Ghz
GTX 1080ti
16GB ddr4 ram @ 3000mhz
Z390UD
ML 360 R aio
1TB m.2 drive SSD
2TB Sata
250GB SSD
750watt psu
2 monitors
Monitor 1 1920x1080p 240hz
Monitor 2 3440x1440 120hz
Windows 10 updated.

I have checked all drivers, updated the bios and even did a clean install of windows 10

I dont have any issues with fps. CPU temps rarely go over 55c, usually stay around 50 to 53c at full load.

GPU temps on idle around 27 to 35c and 55 to 70c on aggressive fan curve depending on game.

No overheating issues and only a handful of games causing 100% cpu usage.

Should I be concerned or is this normal? I see scores of threads about i7 9700K 100% usage but no answers.

Thanks.

Took a SS to show, doesnt matter if I close steam and discord or not, cpu is 100% in this game

You have but 8 threads (still more than quite adequate based on your 'no performance issues' caveat) and, are attempting to game on a 240 Hz monitor at 1080P? A 1080Ti can drive high high frame rates in some games (CS:GO, etc), and, in those games you are likely to see 100% CPU usage...; in games where the 1080Ti is not enough at 1080P/ultra, for example, such as BF5, you would likely have a tad lower CPU usage when the GPU is the bottleneck...

There are weaker gaming CPUs (example, R7-2700Xwith 8c/16t, etc)that give lower CPU usage, albeit with 15-20% lower FPS as well...

Ok to test I put the game on my 3440x1440 120hz monitor and my cpu was around 65 to 83%, never once over 83%. Max settings same as the 1920x1080p 240hz. So does this look normal to you all? Thanks
