[SOLVED] I7 9700k OC stuck at 800 mhz

So I tried to to overclock my core I7 9700k to 5G
Using asus rog 390 f gaming
I copied some settings from a guild on the forum
The cpu was stuck at 800mhz
I reset to default
And tried again and made sure that all settings are how they should be then the cpu got stuck at 2800mhz
I updated bios then applied the 5G profile that comes with bios
The cpu is now running at 5G and working fine
But my question is that the cpu is running at 5g at all times even when idle
Is that oki

Yes, that's how overclocks work, the multiplier you set is what the CPU will always run at, so the CPU will idle at 5 GHz only. As long as the temps are not high, that's alright.
