[SOLVED] i7 9700K temps /w Noctua NH-U14S

Good day people,


Running a noctua NH-U14S on a 9700k, no oc, turbo on. Temps in idle are 25-28 celsius, Temp in AC odyssey on ultra 1440p reaches 66 celsius max (cpu usage between 80-100%), Prime95 blend reaches 72-74, and Prime95 small ftt goes to 85 celsius. how are these temps?
I am coming from a 3770k with h100 so I cannot compare as the 9700k apparently runs hot.
Any insight on the matter is well appreciated. Peace

They are pretty good temps , great AIR cooler.

Thanks! The 3770k I had never ran this hot, got me pankicking a bit with that 85 celsius in prime small ftt, but I guess it's good )

Those 9th Gen CPU's like the i7 9700K and i9 9900K's run HOT out of the box cause there agressively clocked high. But those temps are pretty good on air. I have the 8700K at 5GHz and the temps reach 80°c on aida64 stress test and that's with an old school ZALMAN cnps 9900MAX 300Watt cpu cooler. I ended up getting a unicorn chip cause it only requires 1.2500v to run at 5GHz. It'll boot at 5.5GHz into windows. I got a deal on the z370 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 and with 16GB Gskill 3200MHz ram plus the 8700K for $500. That's the price of the 9900K. In the future i will eventually upgrade to the 8c16t beast but for now i am very happy with the purchase.

I just upgraded from a i7 3770K and a Asrock Extreme4 MB. It has a different ZALMAN cnps 9700 all copper cooler. those old school coolers really work well with these new cpu's. and it reaches 80°c at 4.3GHz with the ram a 2400MHZ. I can't get it to go past 4.3GHz for some reason. So I ordered der8auer's delid die-mate 2 for some liquid metal treatment. any tips or settings i could use to get it past 4.3GHz would be greatly appreciated.
