Hi ppl,
Just got my EVGA RTX 3080TI ULTRA not at MSRP lol,
Gonna combine with:
I7 9700K 4.9GHz
GIGABYTE AORUS MASTER Z390
2X8GB 3000MHz DIMMs
Do I need to upgrade my system?
My thoughts are 11900k with ASUS APEX Z590 MB

Solution
Most games are graphics limited, and you have destroyed that limitation with a 3080ti.
9700K may have only 8 threads, but most games can not make effective use of more than 4-6 threads.
Multiplayer with many participants would be an exception.

See how you do with YOUR games before deciding.
Try this test:
In windows power options, limit your cpu max performance from 100% to 90% to simulate what a lack of cpu resource does to your games.
Certainly if i9-11900K is within your budget, that is going to be as good as it gets today.
But, in a year or so, intel and amd will have newer, stronger processors that need new motherboards and perhaps ddr5.
I might wait.
Lg c1 i can go 4k@120hz
The higher the resolution the lower the FPS and therefore lower the cpu workload. At 4K I doubt you would see any noticeable difference by upgrading the cpu. Had you been running 1440p or similar it would be more likely you would see a gain in some games from a cpu upgrade but even then it’s debatable if it would be worth it. I’m happy with my 3700x and 3080 for 1440 144Hz & 4K 120Hz (LG C9).

At 1440p I can play most games at 120fps at ultra settings with DLSS on and RT at high.
if I will not benefit and get any improvement for 4K so maybe an extra $1200 for CPU, MB, DIMMs will not worth it probably need to let it go...
IDK got this beast GPU and don't want to bottleneck with that CPU
