Hell guys,
I would like to improve stable FPS in World of tanks game and Guild Wars 2 game, 2560x1440, 165HZ monitor.
I prefer powerfull and quiet setup with great windows start. I dont want overlock processor.

What do you think about this combination?
Intel Core i7-12700KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS DDR5,
Intel Core i5-12600KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS DDR5,

My actual build is: 9700KF+Z370 HD3P+16GB DDR4 3200 + RTX 3060Ti

Is better to pair this 12th generation with DDR4 or DDR5 motherboard?
Is this motherboard good for processor 12700KF? Or do you reccomend something better?

Thank you for any help.

Regards,
L.

If you are not going to overclock, then why the overclockable cpu and motherboard?
Why not the better binned*, non-K cpu with a B760 or H770 board? [The K SKUs are leakier(power) than the non-K models.]

No reason to avoid DDR5 now. Get that instead.

Or do you reccomend something better?
Any reason to avoid 13th/14th gen? Or the 7800X3D?
Like, is it pricing in your area?

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I have overlocked i7 9700KF but only a little with 4800Mhz on all cores.
I don't know if I need the ´´K´´ or non ´´K´´ version in the future.
No reason to avoid 13th/14th but these processors aren't on BlackFriday action at this moment.
7800X3D is out of my budget. Maybe ryzen 7600X.

Lastly, I would like to use my actual Noctua Nh-D14 cooler with a new mouting kit.

You don't intend to OC, the non-K chips are more power efficient, plus you can spend less on the non-Ks and B/H boards... that's enough reason, isn't it?

Gotcha. So that's why... crap, stores probably don't have the non-Ks on sale, and that's probably why you didn't look their way.

If you still have proof of purchase, contact Noctua, and they will send you a kit free of charge.

Yeah you are right,

Yep, but what do you recommend? Intel or Ryzen? some budget setup..

Can stick with your 12700kf plan but search about this board (rates higher + support for 6400 ram) and look at getting lowest CL 6400MHz DDR5 kit from Gskill.

How tall is your current ram? Do you need to raise D14's fan at all? If not then all good but if you needed to raise for clearance, check ram height of the new kit so you'll still be able to close the case.

Coming from 9700k will be significant jump, so you'll be happy with 12700kf.

Bare in mind though you'll want to reinstall Windows for best performance. Letting you know now so you can prepare, backup etc. Reusing existing installation, that's even if it boots, is asking for trouble, clash of chipsets/driver/registry etc.

There's still Cyber Monday to come.

What is budget though? How much are those 2 bundles you posted earlier going for?

Looking around for a bit, 12700K and 5800X3D seem to trade blows. The latter is the only AM4 chip I'd even consider - if that one is too high, then skip AM4.

Intel Core i7-12700KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS... 9900Kč→440 $
Intel Core i5-12600KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS... 8499Kč→378 $

Maybe Ryzen 7600X build for now and in the future i am going to change this 7600X → 7800X3D
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X + MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI..... 10689Kč → 475$

What do you mean about these builds?
I have created 2 builds:

Set Intel Core i7-12700KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS + Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36

12829Kč → 570$

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X + MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI + Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36

13528Kč → 601$

You can do the above, or:
B)12700KF + DDR4 version of the above board + reuse the current ram kit, if the above is too much.
C)12600KF + ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS... 8499Kč→378 $

Ehh, 7800X3D will be succeeded by the 8800X3D - maybe 9800X3D, if AMD does 3 gens a socket again - by the time you're probably ready to upgrade from the 7600X.

Ok i go to for the intel. But what kind of board?
i7 12700KF+Motherboard with DDR5 (Action Set) or i7+Motherboard DDR4? Do you recommend some?
i5 12600KF +Motherboard with DDR5 (Action set) or i5 12600KF+Motherboard DDR4? Do you recommend some?

I am going to new ram kit, my target is 2x16Gb DDR4 or DDR5

The board i suggested is pretty good man + the ram kit. If your last system's stint is anything to go by, you'll be hanging on to this system for some time. So perhaps considering that, if say an extra 50 or 100$ difference, might be worth investing bit more for a 5yr run, maybe more.

Hello!

If you're upgrading your entire build, then it is better to do it in a way that it really counts.
I'd go with the i7-14700KF, or choose AMD's Ryzen 7800X3D.

Thats 44ml to bottom of fan, is it overhanging 2nd slot on your board right now? Is fan raised atm? How much clearance have you got as it is now between cooler and panel?

Here are the pictures:

Looks like you can raise fan few heatsink fins more.

The heat spreader with the translucent RGB light bar on the Trident Z5 RGB isn't offensively tall; however, the memory module has a height of 42mm (1.65 inches)

They are 42mm high, bit shorter than the Fury's at 42.2mm.

The ram you have in there atm, search what height they are, then you'll know + the extra height you can have by raising the front fan so the side panel 'closes' just nicely.

Plan B, is you forget D14, i know it is a legendary cooler, i used to have one, but if you can't figure out the clearance you need there is the Noctua D15S(Chromax version looks nice) as it's offset for better ram clearance, might still need to raise fan a little but not as much. Would prefer you figure out your existing ram's height so you keep your cooler and we work it out, this is just plan B if it may come to it.
