I need some of your help. I was wondering if there was anything I could change to knock the price down on this set up. I might just keep one of the video cards until I can afford the other one. Also wanted to know what is a good cheap tower for everything. Thanks for your input.

The psu if fine for 2 of those cards. Even SLI'ed 285s in a i7 965 draw less than 500W total.

That psu looks like an octopus too with all the connectors. I personally opted for a quality modular design from Silverstone.

Would go for an rc-690 at the best, missed yesterdays deal on it though, was $25 off.

psu is fine powering 2 285's idk about that though. seems pretty iffy.

would rather go 850tx than 750tx with 2 285's.

On this site it says that the load for the cards is around 400w roughly. If I have 2 of them installed do I need something to handle them both or does it load then move on to the next item to load? If that makes sense. Thanks for all the help people.

I think you are confused. Load power means the amount of Power those GPU's consumed when they were fully loaded (ie under the most strenuous conditions). Its not loading, like as in loading a level on a game or booting from a hard disk or something.

Oh ok. So it would be ok with this psu then. Or just be safe and get a higher one you think? I don't really know. What happens if there is a need for that wattage but my psu only goes to 750w, does anything get messed up?
