I7 cpu heatsink/fan for already assembled system?

I would like to upgrade my stock cpu heatsink/fan but do not feel comfortable removing the MB to put in a backplate. Can anybody recommend to me an upgrade that does not require this? thanks in advance, jerry

What case do you have? Does your MB tray have a cut out behind the socket? I upgraded my HS all I had to do it remove half of the screws and loosen the rest and the HS bracket slid inbetween the tray and the MB. it was easy!

if not, you got no choice... besides thats the fun of upgrading... working for it.
