I7 gaming rig

Well, It would be nice if you told us more, but if this rig is solely for games, I would recommend saving yourself $100 and getting an i5-2600k instead. But hey, if money isn't an issue go right ahead. Looks good from what I can see.

An i5-2500k will outperform an i7-2600k in gaming. If you want a good GPU I would recommend a GTX 560ti/570 if you've got the money. Either of those GPUs will be able to play any game currently released on max settings. That includes the very graphic intensive Crysis and Metro 2033. It is rumored to be able to play BF3 on max settings @ 1080p as well, although we won't know for sure until it's officially released(if you ask me those cards will be able to handle it, the graphics on that game aren't that far ahead)

Well, blarr, the only difference between i5-2500k and an i7-2600k is hyperthreading and 100 mhz. The 100 mhz referring to the fact that i7 has hyperthreading. Gaming doesn't take any advantage of hyperthreading, you can find this in very easy to find benchmarks. Pretty much universally accepted by everyone, except blarr. As for your GPUs i have a 560ti myself from EVGA and I agree completely with you, and I am very much an NVIDIA man. but a 6700 should do a good job, but its hard to give good recommendations when he doesn't describe his story much.

See my sig, new build 3 weeks ago and it simply is incredible, I cannot believe how bad it smokes my old AMD 965BE build. I started with 1 560ti that I carried over from my AMD rig, then I went and bought another 560ti and went SLI last week just because! I got the 2600K because I wanted the hyperthreading, and quite frankly the extra hundred I thought was well worth it. It easily clocks to its self up to 4.6ghz without a hiccup all day long by raising the turbo boost multiplier in the BIOS alone., and purrs along at a cool energy saving 1.6ghz when not under load. Fastest PC, and the best PC I have ever owned, or used for that matter, by leaps and bounds.
The SSD was worth the money too.
