I am looking to upgrade my pc this year and have listed down the following processors . I want to know which one of them would be the best option provided I am not a competitive gamer. But I dont want something that will start to bottleneck soon. Just one which can play all games and keep up with some audio editing

  1. Intel Core i7 7800X - $ 507
  2. Intel Core i7 8700K - $ 550
  3. Intel Core i7 9700K - $ 623
  4. Intel Core i9 9900K - $ 795
  5. AMD Ryzen 7 2700X - $ 411

I am looking to combine it with either an RTX 2070 or 2080.
the ryzen and 2080 fits my budget but after hearing a lot of bottleneck stories I am quite hesitant with that. What should i do? Which one is the best? Should I buy one of these or wait for the next gen processors?

If you're going to just game, not competitive necessarily, how about going with i5-9600k, I has the same performance as an i9-9900k in gaming. Sure, if you want more desktop manuvering go with the i7 version, AMD is also a great budget choice But I do think it would bottleneck slightly

if you have the buck, 9900k hands down, but if you have any bang for your buck concern I'd ever consider the 8700k, the 9700k isn't really much fast, plus while you get 2 more cores you lose 4 threads.

however, i'd wait, hopefully this year we might have new things coming out, a possible intel 10th gen, or amd 3000.

Thanks for the reply. The i5 is a great option because It comes at $368. It will just ease out my budget. But should I be waiting for the 10th gen processors from Intel or AMD 3000 series?
I have noticed that the launch prices are marginally low compared to their prices after a few months.
Like 8700K was $434 last year ,now it costs $652 on one site and $ 549 on another. Which will give me a better all round performance?

The i9 maybe an overkill for me. It'd cost like 3000 dollars in total. I am not ready to shell out that much but just asked in case there isnt a better option.
I'll wait for the next gen cpu's. Because its just a few months away.
Based on the trend the latest processors will come at a reasonable price.
The 8700K was $368 when it launched , now it costs as much as a 9700K - $652. I had a hard time finding a website where it comes cheaper In my country. But managed a decent 550 bucks.
Anyways thanks for the reply!
