was wondering if an i7 would work with my msi z97-g43 atx motherboard , i got an i5 4690 right now and i might get an i7 soon

i5 4690 and the i7s are socket 1150.The MSI Z97 G43 is socket 1150.

I would suggest waiting before an upgrade, as an i7 won't be a huge improvement over the i5 you have. Unless you really need hyperthreading.

But yes, it would work just fine, and you'll be able to overclock if you get an unlocked i7 (4770k or 4790k)
