Hello everyone,
I have a question for the forum. Well, it may be more than one..
I have an i7 4790k CPU clocked at default speed of 4Ghz. To cool
it, I use the CoolerMaster Hyper 212EVO, with its single stock fan. There
is a specific game I run, which loads a lot of addons I have installed.
Probably because of the game's "heaviness" the CPU reaches
90-100*C(194-212*F). Could this be the reason why I face severe
frame frops while running the game? Is temperature connected
to performance or not? And if it is, what do you suggest? I am thinking
of buying two Cooler Master Fan JetFlo 120 fans for the CPU cooler.
Will they make any difference at all? They must be better than the stock
fan of the Hyper 212EVO. This overheat happens only while running this
game(in fact it is Flight Simulator X),probably because of the huge amount of addons.
It must be the CPU's fault, because I have a GTX970 by ASUS Strix and 16GB RAM which
are just perfect for the game. This i7 is just perfect too, but it gets hot while running the game.
On other games and programs (ex.Assassin's Creed:Syndicate) the temperature is Ok, around
70*C(158*F) maximum. Should i go for the two new fans or not?
Thank you in advance

Sounds like you have either bad themal paste or a badly mounted cooler as even the stock Intel cooler shouldn't let it hit 100c in any game it shouldn't even hit 100c stress testing if you have not overclcoked the cpu

I don't use the Intel stock fan. Misunderstanding:)
I use the after sale CoolerMaster Hyper 212EVO CPU cooler.
Could this let the CPU hit 100*C?

No as I said you have either a badley mounted cooler or a bad quality themal paste job remove clean and repaste the cooler

There's not way it should hit near 100c unless it's overclocked
