i7 temps spike on stock when benchmarking

Hi,

I have an i7 4770k with the Asetek 570LX watercooler. I was benchmarking my CPU to see how it faired against others, and found that it would randomly spike from 65 to 85 + degrees. I used PRIME95.

I recently discovered a short in my motherboard which causes the computer to sometimes not boot when it is turned off. Maybe this could be related?

Anyone got any idea what could have happened?

Check pump speed. might be poorly regulated and needs higher speeds sooner. Test with pump and fan speed at full.
