I'm helping my friend complete his build (We've been working on it for a couple months) all he needs now is a cpu. his mobo is the intel sabertooth 1155 whatever, (I'm not fond of sabertooth, but whatever it looks baller) and we dunno what to get. He's not upposed to the extra money it takes for an i7. i7 2600k is only 279.99 on newegg (pretty solid price imo) and the i5 2500k is only 160$ @ microcenter, so that'd be a great deal, too. He's super into overclocking and stuff, where as I'm not really, so we were thinking mebbe the older cpu's would be better since the new Ivy's get hot. (He has an H100i) so which one should we get? I'm thinking the 2500k, but I'm cool with loaning him the cash for that i7 if it's gonna be worth it at all (He does render down videos alot, would th i7 help with that?)
Also a personal question while I'm here, my new gaming mouse arrived day before yesterday (Mionix NAOS 3200) (Loooveeee the damn thing. this >G700/Mamba/Deathadder/G500) And I'm not sure what DPI to run with, or what difference it makes. My old mouse I've used the longest only has 800dpi, so I'm kinda used to that, but now I've been running 1600 for a couple days (My mouse does 800, 1600, and 3200, 3200 was just a bit too much for me) and this feels nice.. but, like, is it anything other than sensitivity? Would it be best for me to crank up the dpi to 3200 then just lower my sens? would that provide better accuracy or would I just be stupid. Also what's pulling rate? (Software says 125hz, 250hz, 500hz, and 1000hz) Idk. Thanks a mil
