I was going to buy the I5 3570k but it is not available anymore in my shop, so later I got a suggestion to get the i7 3770k...
I am not sure the difference will be visible in gaming and video editing...Is it worth this extra money?
And will my GTX 460 bottleneck the 3770k?
It will be overclocked....that is why i need the "k" model.

For gaming no you don't need an i7 for video editing it would come in useful.

For either one of the CPU's you mention a 460 wont even come near restricting a stock version never mind overclocked.

Mactronix :)

I believe what was meant was you would not restrict 2 460's. I very nearly posted that you could use as many 460's as you wanted but thought it sounded flippant, if true.

Mactronix :)

you can run 3 460's and still have enough bandwidth on the i7 not to bottleneck.
for gaming its pretty much overkill you would be better off the next step down on the i5 series rather than stepping up to the i7...
but for video encoding the entra grunt would come in useful... but really if your not gonna be doing it more than 1s or twice a week then dont bother... either wait till the 3570 comes back into stock or buy a 2500k, 3550 or 3470

Sorry my typing error. You wouldn't bottleneck 4 680's at 1080 :)
