i7700k bad temps with watercooler

i have the i7 7700k OC to 4.6 ghz, when i play games like h1z1 and csgo it reach 89 degrees. I have the corsair h110i watercooler
 
Solution
Well a 280mm rad should do better than 89c core temp especially if you are only playing a game, my 30 dollar hyper 212 evo air cooler does better than that with my 7700k. What are you using to monitor temps? There are not a lot of reasons that I can think of that would cause those kind of temps other than the cooler being mounted improperly. Maybe your pump speed is set very low? Or not working at all? What are idle temps? If you are using Hwmonitor or something post a screen shot when the cpu is under load and at idle.


Thats a bit warm, I would guess that your coolers cold plate was not mounted properly. Read the instructions and remount it, be sure to use enough thermal paste, and tighten the screws in a cross formation so you apply even pressure to the surface of the cpu.
