i7700k Build Z170 SLI Plus no video

I'm not able to get any video. The fans spin and the dram light comes on briefly and goes off. I've hooked up the speaker and I get no beeps.

I've attempted to reset ram and power connections, disconnect hard drive / dvd rom, removed the video card and use the internal video only.

If the Dram light goes off does this still mean a problem with ram?

Additionally I re-seated the CPU and check for bent pins and didn't notice anything.

Did you buy the motherboard brand new? It might not be updated yet to support Kaby Lake CPUs out of the box.

Is this a new build?? And do you mean the Z170A SLI PLUS?

If you do it needs BIOS 1.9 the 2nd to last BIOS to support that CPU

And do you mean a speaker for the header on the mobo?? A speaker connected to the audio output wont work. Since its not going

Yes the motherboard is brand new. Yes the speaker for the header on the mobo.

Is it possible to update the bios without being able to access the bios?

No, you need a compatible CPU to be able to boot into the BIOS.

As in I don't even get video out to access the bios.

Nope it has to be going to update it.

If this is what the prob is you'll have to either buy / borrow a cpu the current BIOS supports flash it then put this back in. Or take it to a shop and ask them to update it

Ahh that sucks. Hmm no idea what I'm going to do now. I don't think I have another CPU that will fit in the board. Thanks for your help. It saved me countless more hours of troubleshooting.

It's a new build, send the motherboard back and purchase a z270.
