Built a pretty good (to me) system around an Intel OR840 mobo (2-piii 1ghz - 2gb PC800 ram - and other stuff).
I was dreaming of just a litte more - dual tualatins at 1.4Ghz. Intel OR840 does not do dual sloket type adpaters (Slot-T, PowerLeap).
Since the pc800 RAM is (or seems to be) the most costly part of older dualie systems like this, I wanted to build around PC800 (2GB min) based chips sets - oh and good/decent AGP (pro/4x) is fairly important to me. I think this means i820, i840, (and i860), right? (FYI: dont' know much about other non-intel chipsets that fit into the category - feel free to educate me). I am ignoring the i820 - and don't think i860 (xenos) are in my budget.
So there are:
Intel OR840
Tyan Thunder i840 (dual socket 370 - so 370 to tualatin adapter 'thing' could work with mobo)
What are some other options - I am sure there are more. Ideally, I'd like to recycle my pair of slot1 piii/1ghz untill I can get my hands on piii tualatins - but this is not entirely neccesary.

PS Why, you may ask, don't I hock what I got and use the $$$ to buy a spiffy P4 mobo or something like that? Well I like Dualies - I do software under linux and typically run an AppServer, web server, browsers, text editors, compilers, VPN software, and XMMS (to mention only a few things) - I find the SMP boxes are just less jerky than 'faster' single CPU boxes. I have this rig sitting right next to a P4 3.0 ghz rig - I choose dual-PIII over the p4 90% time - 'course the p4 is running XP home - so maybe I a missing out on that HT stuff in the P4 (and for time being the P4 is not going to do Linux (long story))
