Hello every one,

I plan to buy a DELL notebook. The i8600 seems to me very interesting.
But this model has been launched since october 2003 I think and I
wonder if this model will be soon replaced by a new model ? or it will
be still produced for some months ?
Does anybody know if the i8600 is replaced soon ? or I can buy it now
and will not be disappointed in few weeks if a new model is launched
?! ;-)

Thank you every one for your information !

Steve

the 8600 is a time proven model, would you therefore risk buying an unproven
model, the 8600 will be supported for a number of years.

or you could do as I did buy the M60 (700 NVidia) and almost immediately
they released a newer model (1000 NVidia) with a higher spec graphics card,
but who cares mine is a superb model and great machine to use

No one here can answer how much longer the Inspiron 8600 is going to be
produced.

The computer market is so static that you can *never* be assured that a
model that you buy today will not be discontinued tomorrow.

The 8600 is a great machine. If you need a laptop and it fits your needs,
buy it. Don't try to guess what a computer company's plans are for
continuing certain models.
