Hi, I plan to delid a i9-10900K and cool it direct to die. I plan on using the Rockit Cool Direct to Die frame to fit 10th Gen Intel CPUs - complete kit. The motherboard is the asus rog maximus 12 hero.

I have two questions regarding this.

First, my CPU cooler is the Corsair h115i pro xt. Will it go low enough to actually reach the die?

Second, I plan on using liquid metal between the die and the cold plate. Should I apply it only to the die or to both? If it's better to apply it to both, what technique should I use to identify where exactly the die will touch the cold plate?

This is some risky buisness. Hopefully this doesn't void your warranty lol. Good luck, I have no idea. I actually have a stock cooler on my i5-9400F. Don't worry, I will replace it when needed, but for the time being, I plan on waiting it thru until I upgrade to AMD(when this becomes old tech)
