Hello

As the title says, I can't get any game to utilize the GPU over 55%.

This comes after I am having some serious performance problems with some games and it might be a possible solution.

Anyone would be so kind and recommend some guides on how to raise that?

Thank you

What games are you trying to play and at what refresh rate?

If you have low GPU utilization then it means it's being restricted in some way, such as a frame rate cap, vsync ect.. or you've reached the limit of how many frames your CPU can produce. Unless there is something fundamentally wrong with your system, there is no simple guide to 'raise it'.

Can I assume the reason you want to raise the GPU usage is because you want higher frame rates?

I am not sure. But even if I change my monitor display to 60mhz, there's no change. Utilization is still very low.
Although it's a very demanding game I would still expect the 10900K to run it easily. If the in game refresh rate is set to 60hz then you won't get any higher than 60 FPS. You said vsync was turned on, so that will limit your frame rate. It almost sounds like you have a 120hz monitor but you in game refresh rate is set at 60hz.

Full system specs and game settings would take the guesswork out. In addition, my limited knowledge about the games current state (I don't have it yet but I've watched some stuff) indicates that Nvidia hardware is not functioning well at this time. AMD last gen hardware is currently stomping NV current gen according to the information I have seen and that just does not make any sense. System RAM of 32GB and video RAM of 12GB or greater seems to perform best at the highest settings, and NO ONE is getting great performance.

RT is off! I am using the same settings as they do.

On interesting detail: When I am inside a cave or whatever, GPU utilization is 99%, but when I am outside or in town it drops to ~53%

Does seem to point towards CPU engine limits. If you can get 99% GPU utilization in closed off area where the CPU doesn't have to do much and the GPU is free to render all the frames possible, it does. In a town or outside where there are lots of assets and interactions between those assets the game engine's main thread might be getting bogged down, providing less instruction to the GPU and giving it time to idle.

Or they have some view distance logic going on. Everything you see up close needs to be rendered with high res textures, when you can see into the distance they can switch to low poly stuff and lower size textures which may be really easy to render. This could be a hold over from the consoles to improve performance.

What CPU is your friend using?
