Hi!
Im in the middle of upgradeing my pc and yesterday i switched CPU to i9-9900k. What is bothering me is lowish cinebench r20 score - 4200 points. From what i checked it should be around 5000. The CPU temp during the test was max at 85 degrees (kraken x73). Im currently using asrock z370m motherboard and 4x4gb 2400 Mhz DDR4 sticks. I didnt not OC the CPU - everything is stock/auto.

Any suggestions what might be happening?

Solution
Thanks for advice!
After changing Long and Short Duration Power Limit to max (4095) the CPU is no longer dropping Ghz and im getting 4800 points in Cinebench (before 4200). I also ran OCCT for an hour without any problems.

What speed is the cpu running at during the benchmark? I have doubts about the motherboards suitability and it might be throttling the cpu.

Hi sizzling!
Thanks for the reply. The speed at the start of the test is 4700Mhz and then it drops to 3900.

What is ur single core score ? Things u can try to improve ur score: close all ur applications that tax ur cpu. Enable MCE in bios, if u dont know what this is dont mess with it. If nothing of this 2 help u to improve ur score i believe Sizzling is right and its the mobo. Also can u tell me what psu u use and gpu ?
