I’m debating trying to upgrade my system again. This time with an i9-9900k, Asus Z390-f, and 2 Hyperx predator 8 GB 3200 mhz modules. I have a CM scout 2 case, and I’m wondering if I can get away with a 120 mm AIO, or an air cooler for the cpu. Would that work, or do I also need a bigger case? If it would be good enough, what cooler should I go for?

Got a gtx 1070 and a evga 750w g2 I’m keeping.

Looks like Linus is using the H110i in the Scout 2 here without any problems? Should I be good to go?

Solution
120mm AIO, don't even think about it...

You need at least a 280mm and not a budget model either.

Or a good Air Cooler like an Noctua NH D15.

A larger case would be better.

As the max cooler height is only 162 mm, and the noctua d15 is 165 mm, I guess a case upgrade is absolutely necessary? In the store I’m looking at, they recommend the Corsair H60 with the cpu, but that would still be stupid?

An H60 with an 9900K is completely idiotic at best.
