Hi, after some nights without sleep :-D im still thinking what to order and what would be better.

there are ONLY two options.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X + ASUS ROG Strix X570-E + G.Skill TridentZ 32gb ddr4 3200 cl16
or
Intel i9 9900K + ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E + G.Skill TridentZ 32gb ddr4 3200 cl16

there will be also : Samsung 970 EVO 500gb + ASUS ROG STRIX 1080Ti @ ASUS ROG PG278QR (1440p@165Hz)
powered on/with : Corsair RM650i it would be replaced also soon if needed then :)

soo i need decide on that last question about that. mainly use will be "gaming" + sometimes Sony Vegas

now on use : i5 4690k + 16gb ddr3 crucial ballistix elite (pc3-12800) + 1080Ti... after 5 years i want to upgrade, from online "stats" im not happy :-D someone says i9 is better someone say ryzen is on top... what now ? :-D

If you want strictly gaming, the Intel will slightly win, AMD tends to win on value and multitasking.
So if it is strictly gaming, you're probably best going for the 9900K due to it's stronger single and dual core performance.
However if you want some multitasking then the 3900X is the best option due to it's increased cores and threads.

Overall the 9900K will still perform very well for Sony Vegas (from my awareness). and most games still can't use all those cores well if at all. However another aspect to consider is if you want PCIe Gen 4 access down the line, in which case the new X570 AMD Chipsets give you this.

You can see a good comparison here: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-9_3900x-vs-intel-core_i7-9900k,6225.html

Well the Ryzen Platform is better going forward and had more cores for Vegas.

if you used premiere I’d say intel all the way but as you are now I’d probably go Ryzen. Though for the price why not look into the TR4 chips?

i was at first interested on TR2920X, but prices are nearly same. so why go for older ?

Well threadripper 2920x kinda sucks for gaming, so avoid that. Tr4 motherboards are costly aswell.

Intel would be better at games, but the 3900x would be better for editing.

Since you are gaming more than editing, i would choose the 9900k.

You relally cant go wrong with either tho.

I don't want to hijack this thread... but, aren't those benchmark tests, where 9900K performs so well, in a Lab like environment? I assume they close all unnecessary programs, maybe even all unnecessary services, don't have any antivirus, antimalware running.

If that is true, I assume as soon as you have a browser opened, or maybe email or online chat running, then more cores would perform better. So, 3900X should perform better even for gaming, unless you really set your gaming environment suitable for single core performance.

No?

You can get a 16 core for less than a 3900X where I am I didn’t know if it was the same where you are
difference between TR2920x and i9 or r9 is about -50€ :-D it does not matter
hard choice.. but maybe it has intel win again this time, just because 3900x not on stock and also with 3 weeks delivery time :-D
