[SOLVED] i9-9900k running hot (prime 95)

Decided I want toed to overclock my i9, sitting idle on my desktop i get fluctuating temps from 35c -40c

in gaming (ModernWarfare) it sits around 60-65c

i downloaded prime95 and ran the smallFFTs and it immediatly pinned all of my cores to 85-97c!

I know this chip runs hot, but that seems dangeoursly hot.

I have a corsair HSI liquid cooler unit.

the one with icue support and two large 120 mm fans blowing across the radiator.

what kind of heat sink compound you are using?
I recommend you change to Arctic silver

If you are running any version past 26.6, did you disable the AVX options(recommended)?

So, a 240mm CLC. Insufficient cooler. You need a 360mm.
