[SOLVED] i9-9900k unable to revert to stock clock speed

I overclocked i9-9900k on rog maximus hero xi to 5.0GHz but the temperature was too high. So I reverted the bios setting to default and cleared CMOS. However, the core speed still shows as 4.7 MHz.
Before the overclocking, the idle temperature is around 30s and 50s while gaming. The temperature now is going up to 90s while gaming just like what I got from overclocking.
Almost all the bios settings were set as auto.
Please help.

Try resetting CMOS. Your motherboard instructions will tell you how.

4.7 is the all core turbo speed.

You should check some of the auto-oc features of ASUS motherboards, they may be Enable or on Auto, and so changing back to disable may help. Also is worth checking and make sure that vcore is set to Auto.
