i9 9980XE or TR 2990WX

Hey, guys! My friend who is a gamer and video editor wants to build a high end PC, but he can't decide between i9 9980XE and TR 2990WX. What do you recommend?

What does he do more of? Nothing will touch that tr in a threaded workload... However the Intel will definitely game.better

He plays games often, but also edits.

Both will game okay, the TR will demolish the Intel.chip editing. But honestly both will do both well

Are you sure he needs either of these in the first place? There's a pretty good chance that a super high core count cpu is a waste of money. In premiere, for example, a 9900k with a decent gpu will be faster than either of these cpus. Really depends on the programs he uses, footage resolution, etc. I wouldn't just hop into spending this much without doing any research.
