I'm new at this and want some advice about this build

intel i5 4670K

MSI Z87-G45 Gaming

Gigabyte gtx 780

Corsair vengeance pro 2x4gb

Harddisk 3.5Inch Seagate SATA III 1 TB 7200RPM

Nzxt phantom 410 se gunmetal grey

Seasonic M12II-850 850W

LG DVDRW Sata 24x Box

Cooler Master Hyper 212x

samsung ssd 840 series 120 gb

I'd get a 650-720W PSU instead. Forget about SLI/Crossfire and stick to one GPU unless you want 3 monitor gaming or 120Hz monitor.

How about a R9 280x? It's excellent in all games at 1080p. If you want 1440p then 780 is better.

Stick with the 850 watt. SLI is a great option for grabbing some extra performance without doing a system overhaul, and it looks great. nVidia SLI scaling is typically fantastic, and the majority of new games will support SLI. Also, the 780 is PERFECT for 1080p, especially with new games becoming more and more intensive. The R9 280X is a great little card, but it isn't what you want if you are looking to max out new games at a constant 60 FPS. On the other hand, you may want to wait until the R9-290 starts coming out with aftermarket coolers, as then you will have support for Mantle, as well as a cheaper card for more potential performance.

CM Hyper 212 EVO will run around 3c warmer than the TC14PE. I've had both on my FX 8350 at the same speeds. Under load, the 212 peaked at 57c. TC14PE peaked at 54c.

I went to an H100i and bumped my OC up 100mhz and it peaks at 52c now.

For your i5 I suggest either 212 EVO for a budget cooler, or go H80i for water.

+1. The Hyper 212 is the warmest cooler out of all of them, however for the money it has EPIC value. Also, it is SO quiet, even under the heaviest of loads.

The Evo is excellent at cooling and will good a great overclock for the money.
