Do any of you guys know it's possible to make the Ibm gxp drive quiter. When I mean quite I do not mean seek noise, but the noise the drive makes constantly.
Any suggestions are welcomed...

Very easy, pull the power plug from the rear side of the drive... heh

Grab a masonry chisel and a ball-pin hammer. Cut it in half, and you'll get half the noise of the full drive.

(sorry. other than lining your case with dynamat or packed nylon, there's not any good way to sound proof and get airflow.)

Their acoustic tool only makes the seek quieter I think... but I'm not sure if it makes it quieter in general? I'm not sure.
