I've been using IBM space saver keyboards for years

I just bought a Belkin SOHO four port KVM Switch from a neighborhood PC recycling shop. I wanted to use it to replace my old two port KVM switch.
But when I hooked it up my IBM keyboard didn't work right. Many of the keys were dead, and some of them produced weird results (e.g. the "u" key acted like a backspace key).
I dug out an old KeyTronic keyboard that was given to me years ago, hooked it up and it works fine. I'm typing this message on it right now.

So, I'm wondering if there's anyone reading this who understands why my favortie old IBM keyboard doesn't work with this new KVM switch. And if there's a way to correct the incompatibility.
