Question IBM SurePoint IR touch screen not working windows 10?

Hello everyone,I bought an ancient IBM 4820-2WB Surepoint POS IR touch screen display,and I can't for the life of me figure out why windows 10 isn't recognizing it as a touch screen,it works as a display but that's it.

I read somewhere where it needed USB power also so I tried using both ports on the monitor and hooking them to the computer. I am using a 19.5v 2.3 amp power supply so I think I have that covered as its working nicely as a display,but I bought this wanting to use it as a LinuxCNC display for my milling machine so I need teh touch screen features working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 😉

Supported Windows versions were Windows XP & Windows 2000, so most likely no driver support for Windows 10 as it predates Win10 by many years.

I think I may have figured out the problem, It looks like these monitors take a special IBM USB cable that connects the Elo IR touch screen system to the computer, or POS machine. I don't think the touch screen function alone can work on the VGA connection and the regular USB ports on the monitor just seem to be for powering accessories.

I appreciate the input and the help, I am going to continue updating the thread with my progress, so other people trying to get these old infrared IBM POS touch screens will know to do in order to get them working on Windows and Linux. There is almost no information on getting them to work with PC's.
