Hi Everyone,

I have an IBM ThinkCentre desktop PC. Model no: 8429-KG7

This was running Windows 7 Home Premium. The problem is that after a random amount of time it would just freeze. This happened too often to be ignored so I tried the following:

1. Removed or disconnected all non-essential hardware.
2. Removed the memory sticks and tried each in different slot and on its own.
3. Removed HDD and booted from live Ubunutu CD.
4. Loaded default values in BIOS.

Even with the PC is it's most stripped down state, and running a fresh OS it still happened. Previously this little PC has been ultra reliable and very quiet so I really hope I can get this sorted.

Can someone please give me an idea what to try next?

Thanks

I have also experienced the same issue. In my case, the MOB was the issue. Before somebody can provide you the proper solution, will you provide your MOB details?

I will try. What details would be helpful? I have just had a look and I can't see a model number on the board. There is a sticker with what I assume could be a part number.#
