Ibuypower gamer extreme 923i is this a good gaming computer???

I'm looking to buy a gaming computer for my daughter so that she can play her Left for Dead 2 & Dead Island games without any lag. I found this computer online and I'm hoping it's a decent one...can anyone help????

1) Ignore the word, "Extreme" in the system's name. "Extreme" it is not!

From an off the shelf stand point, it looks fine. From a builder's stand point, it looks like a nightmare. Unknown power supply. I'm guessing that since it's an XClio case, it's probably an XClio power supply. Which one, however, I have no idea. Not the best choice in power supplies regardless.

The motherboard is an ASRock H61M-HVS. Still running SATA II/USB 2.0. The specs on Newegg (taken from IBuyPower) state Gigabit Ethernet, but the motherboard specs only state 10/100 Ethernet. Only one PCI-Ex16 (used) and PCI-Ex1 expansion slot on the Micro-ATX motherboard, but installed in a case that accepts full ATX motherboards.

To me, while the entire system seems functional and able to do what your daughter wants it to do, to me (as a builder) it seems more "cobbled together from spare parts" or "skimmed down to bare essentials", than a well designed system.

If you want to have some real fun and bonding time with your daughter I would say build it yourself

At the end of the day, its a good build. The HD6770 is a nice $110 video card that will play most games and the CPU (i5 2320) will outrun most CPUs used by people on this board.

That said, yes you can build a better, more stable PC and you can do better buying a refub vs. a new PC.
