ICare Recovery tool is not reading the drive I need recovered because it is showing up as a cd drive. How do I fix this?

I have an external hard drive that consist of raw data. It is video that I need to recover. It shows up as a cd drive on my computer and the recovery software does not read it. How do I make the recovery tool see the external hard drive?

Have you tried any other recovery tool to see if the same issue occurs or if it's specific to that software?

Details of your operating system, type or format on hard disk
Confirmation USB 2 or USB 3 or other interface

Have you tested with western digital data life guard (windows) if a windows PC will confirm if software or hardware problem

Any idea what caused problem
Unplugging while disk writing?
Power failure?

Testdisk/ photo Recovery can help if partition is corrupted but no physical damage
