When opening folders, all the files are displayed as icons automatically, and
even if I change the view to 'details' as soon as i click on another folder
, the folders/files are presented as before. Anyone know how to set
'details' as the default view option ?

Open any folder with windows explorer.

Set it to view details.

Go to menu item "Tools | Folder Options"

Click on "View" tab

Click on "Apply to all Folders"

Click "OK"
