Icons on my dest top move after shuting down

I have a gate lab top with a hp monitor after hooking up the two my desk top icons move and dont stay wher i pu them

You might want to uncheck Arrange Icons to Grid.

If that doesn't work, I found this thing that works wonders. It's a work around but works nonetheless.
