ICons slow generate

I have notice that when I close a program out and return to the start page in win XP prof. the Icons are of no color and you see them go back to the orginal color one by one. Is this normal to regenerate like this. I thought I remembered them going back to the start page and bam they were there. Bruce

I think I will try to up date from Direct X 6 to direct X 8 and see if that helps. This is a older PC running Win98 2nd and probaly is missing a key ingrediant. Bruce
