Hi everyone. I hope maybe you guys can give me a hand here. I feel like i have set this up before without a problem and can not figure out what to do.
-So what i am trying to do here is set up "local area connection" -Ethernet port. to share my wifi internet. I have a usb dongle that picks up wifi. So i have set that connection to share internet. But my local area connection shows no network access.
-I have plugged in a working ethernet cable into my port and I have it running to a router to broadcast the wifi I pick up on my computer throughout my room. For my phone and games.
I have wifi through a xfinity hot spot.

Solution
ICS doesn't work that way -- it does not like routers since it sets up the IP addresses itself.

You can create a wireless hotspot using your computer wireless adapter if you have a different adapter for the xfinity hot spot. Unfortunately, Microsoft removed the virtual miniport adapter from Windows 10, which allowed using one wireless adapter for two connections.

I recommend using Connectify to manage the local wireless network over bridging adapters for security reasons. I think it has a free trial period and is $30 or so if it works for you.
