I was wondering if internet connection sharing was made impossible by Microsoft on netbooks even after an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. This is because whenever I create an Ad-Hoc network on my netbook I am unable to turn on Internet Connection Sharing. Though my friend with a Toshiba notebook running Home Premium is able to turn on Internet Connection Sharing

If the upgrade was successful, you should end up with a "full" Home Premium install with all of the proper "bells and whistles". It seems that the upgrade either didn't complete or wasn't applied at all.

When you open Control Panel/System what version of Windows does the system report?

Home Premium does indeed support ICS. Do this:

Click the Start Button and then select Windows Help and Support

Then type "internet connection sharing", without the quotes, in the search field

The very first selection "Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)" should walk you right through the configuration process.

Good luck!

When I type in "internet connection sharing" I am only presented with the option to "Find and fix networking connection problems." Could this maybe have something to do with the fact that I got Home Premium through a Windows Anytime Upgrade from Starter.
