I currently own this Desktop Gaming PC and am looking to upgrade it slowly starting with the Motherboard and CPU and finally the GPU.

It currently has a Msi Z270-A PRO and would like to swap it out for a Asus ROG Strix Z390-E. I would then like to upgrade the CPU from the i7 after.

I have no experience in this arena - could someone suggest if this is feasible?

Motherboards are the same ATX form factor so that won't be a problem. The PSU is not listed so it could be a problem as many prebuilts do tend to skimp on the PSU(you'll have to open the case and look at the PSU to get the make and model). The CPU cooler may also be a problem depending on which cpu you get and what cpu cooler they put in the system as it is also missing from the specs. From the pic it looks like a small 120mm aio which is going to struggle with a new i7 and be inadequate for the i9.

yeah i got that part. I'm more curious about can i simply pull out the Z270 and shove in the Strix Z390 in the Desktop I've linked? Power Requirements etc? Are the two boards comparable in size and can be swapped in as - is and can work as soon as i plug in the CPU and power it on?
