This is getting f_cking rediculous!!! Once again Doom 3 release date got pushed another f_cking month!!! Have no idea how pissed off I am with this pussy marketing tactics ID is playing with Valve. For god sakes you damn midgets there is already software out there using better engines than this f_cking game!!!! Grow some f_ucking balls man and release the damn thing or the only ones that will get the f_cking game will be from those that get it from Kazza or bittorrent.

I think they've screwed themselves and the industry. I was going to upgrade my rig for doom3 and hl2 and now I'm not going to. So much time has gone by that I might as well just skip this generation of hardware and go with the next. I'll upgrade for something else and I doubt I'll buy either one of these games anymore.

The hype is bullshit and they're wasting our time. I've lost interest in both.

It has been finished for a LONG time. That quote is open for interpretation and is just corperate double-talk. But the bottom line both ID and valve are being pussies and not want the other to clash and want to maximize profits and are not realizing that they are doing the exact inverse of what are wanting to do.

Every software developer know that they cannot possibly release the PERFECT VERSION. There is always third party updates or specific config that will blow the software up and require a patch. Just do like what every other company does and use the customer as the guenea pig.

I can already name a handful of games that can blow away doom3 and HL2 and several with better graphics. Everyone has plyaed those betas to the ground that the interest is next to nill.....

There isn't one. Retailers keep posting a date and then changing it.

The empty box for HL2 and Doom3 has been in game stores forever now.

Here why. If Doom Has softwhere problems. Where most people could not Play it. Would you want to get it. Me I dont want a buggy program. A normal person will go ok they are having Bugs there trying to work it out.

Or your idea Release it now. With all it Bugs And have you Pout Going Doom 3 has so many bugs it not worth to play.

Your choice. I would go for the frist one.
 
It's gonna take them longer to make and release Doom III than it is to plan, film, produce, and post produce Star Wars Ep III.

I do understand that this is their pilot release of the doom 3 engine and timming is the key. I just dont think they care about the game itself of just the engine itself and the lisences they will get out of it.

No I am not a little kid, well most of the time. You think Im mad? Think about those that preordered this game well over a year ago. Id bet the retailers do not have their preorder info anymore. Those are the one that are really pissed off. From Diablo 2, Ive learned not the do preorders.

Apparently Id is disagreeing with you, and they think it is not ready. Otherwise they would release it as these delays are costing them dearly. Technically it's not delayer because Id never gave an official release date but it's clear that that is a theoretical statement. Either they had delays or they timed the marketing hype completely wrong, take your pick, Id.

Dude, the game may be "ready", but you better believe they are working by the seat of their pants to make sure that it is PERFECT. The June 15 date was speculative and was never officially announced by anyone. I'm sure they have nothing but good reasons for why the game is not yet released.

I like Thief: DS, but I wish they had spent more time to tweak the controls and fix bugs. It's a good example of developers releasing unfinished software because the publisher is pressuring them. Far Cry as well would have benefitted from some serious fine-tuning.

Doom is a ground-breaking title that will rock your socks off, so just wait a little longer, it's almost out. Also, it's very inappropriate to compare the alpha to the finished game- it's nothing more than an early graphics demo that's crude and barely works, and it has nothing to do with the actual product, never mind the fact that it's like three years old.

I just give a hoot about it anymore. They can procrastinate all they want while their smaller competitors release thier own stuff with comparable if not better engines. Really Id rather play UT2004 or CoD than Doom3.

I've seen both of those games and frankly I am not that impressed. Doom will make them look like nothing more than a puppet show. On the other hand, the Unreal 3 engine is mind-blowing, but it won't be out for another 2 years.
 
But thats just the way it is, more code equals more development time. All we can hope is MS buys ID out, that way games come out on time.
