IDE CD drive problem...

I have a MSI 939 NForce3 motherboard w/ Athlon 3200+, and I'm having
serious problems with CD ROMS... All the CD's I burn will have all
unreadable sectors and it takes something like 10 minutes to boot up
Windows XP if I have any CD in the drive. Also, sometimes when I swap
CD's it won't read from the second CD....ie...it will read fine the CD
that was in the drive when windows boots up, but it won't read if I
take it out and put in another CD. This does this in different CD
drives, so I know it's not the drive itself. Anyone know what's going
on?

Did you also install the NForce3 Ultra DMA drivers? These should be part of
the nForce chipset drivers.

what program are you using to burn cds?

have you tried another cd rom in the computer?

have you tried a new ide cable? is your cable in ide1 or 0 on the
motherboard

is your cd rom set as master or slave?

i take it you bios reckonises your cd rom? and your windows xp

make sure your cd rom is compatable with your motherboard check the
website of your motherboard and cd roms

check device manager and make sure your cd rom is not having problem
