I am looking to put in an SSD into one of my old laptops.
The interface is IDE is there a converter small enough to fit inside the space plus the SSD.
Or is it possible to put in an M.2 and an IDE converter.
I can hear you saying why don't you just buy another laptop.
We I'm happy with this and besides when I do finally decide to get rid it will be just a straight reversal.

I have also looked at the second item and it looks like it might do the trick.
As this answer is coming from my Windows Phone I really need to see it on a monitor for a better perspective.
I will update you later.

I have now taken a couple of photos just under 4.5" (110.5mm) x 2.75" (70mm)

The item M.2 NGFF SATA SSD to 2.5 IDE 44pin Converter Adapter with Case for Computer Accessries (should read Accessories)
https://www.amazon.com/44pin-Converter-Adapter-Computer...
To me looks like an external case, which I don't want thanks.

The other item
Ableconn IIDE-MSAT mSATA SSD to 2.5-Inch IDE Adapter Converter with Aluminum Frame Bracket - Latch and Retain mSATA SSD as 9.5mm 2.5" IDE SSD Drive

This one seems to do the trick
