IDE DVD Writer Compatibility ?

I'm planning to install an IDE DVD Writer in my HP Pavilion 8505 Desktop. I want to know what type of IDE DVD writer would be compatible in my PC ?
And also, which brand(s) should i choose ?

Try to get LG or Samsung. In my option, those are the best optical drive manufacturers.

Regarding an IDE drive working with your desktop, would it be possible to get more details on its motherboard? That will help us determine whether IDE drives will work with your computer or not.
