IDE hard disk shows incorrected capacity

I used IDE hard disk of my desk top as an external drive through USB port. Before doing this I deleted all the partitions and formated the same which showed 74.6 GB but when I connected to the USB port it shows the capacity is 31 GB. How to get the full capacity.

It sounds like you may have formatted it to the FAT32 file system instead of the NTFS file system. Format it again but select 'NTFS' as the file system.
