Ide hdd not showing

Hi guys, i bought a sabrent 3.0 sata/ide adapter and i tried to connect my old ide drive, but when i did it the hdd wasn't showing it, so i went to my computer, manage, disk manager and there's any new hdd there, only my 1tb disk and my dvd, the hdd is good so i know there's a problem somewhere else, the jumper is set on master (the manual says that it should be like that) but i still can't see it on my computer please help me.

Could be a faulty adapter, you should have bought a proper external enclosure for the drive, costs about the same but more reliable. Alternatively, try installing the drive internally if possible.

Well i tried a sata hdd and the adapter worked like a charm, a poblem that i have is that i don't have ide port on my new pc that's why i bought this adapter
