Ide or ahci for my sata hard disk on windows 10

Hello i am new to ahci and ide in storage i dont know what to choose for my pc i have a 2 tb toshiba sata hard disk and dont know what to choose for my hd between ahci and ide so please i need your help i have an intel dp55wb motherboad and a windows 10 and a core i7 880 cpu and gtx 970

You have to choose AHCI of course. IDE mode is there just for compatibility.
But you can change it only before installing windows. If you change it after, your windows will not boot anymore.

Thank you but i have read that i can change from ide to ahci even when windows is installed after i change in bios pc wont boot and it will open a startup repair options i choose the boot in safe mode and windows will start normaly and install the ahci driver and then i restart rhe pc and it will boot normaly tbank you alot

If you change the setting of IDE/AHCI in BIOS after you install the windows, Windows will not boot directly.
You can use Win installation CD/DDVD/whatever to repair the installed Windows.
I did this on my old Q6600 rig about 6-7 years ago.

Hello thanks for the reply and i did this step of going into safe mode and i did the job and it worked perfectly
