IDE RAID0 - graceful failure?

If you setup two IDE drives with RAID 0 and one of the drives starts getting bad blocks, does that break the RAID set? Will all your files go POOF!

The nice thing about single drives is that if they fail they usually fail slowly, so you can save most of your files before it's too late. I'd like to try IDE RAID 0 but am worried about how robust it is. If one disk develops some bad blocks does that break the set? If a drive starts to fail will IDE RAID 0 corrupt files slowly like a single drive would?

I don't know all the techinical ins and outs, but if one drives goes, you've lost the lot. Think about that for a moment, then think about RAID 0+1
