are there any cheaper ones? Also how do I know if that's compatible? I have 2 serial ata 7 pin connectors and and an ide 40 pin pci local bus, whatever that means.

the only cheaper place i know of is ebay like this u can score for like 3-5$ got to look around there

thats not compatible with windows 7 and where does it plug in?

Those bridge adapter simply plug on back on hard drive, or dvd, they are SATA 1 and compatible with all sata ports. They do not require any drivers in windows
