Hello world, (1st post gag ^^),

So, here's the thing, I have a Toshiba Satellite a300 and an Old Desktop lying around, and I mean OLD, Single-core processor, 512Mb DDR RAM, Old ATI (crap^^) video card, etc.,

And since I'm something of a laptop guy, I'm starting to feel a bit burned with the no-upgrades policy of laptops 😀

So, in short, Is there any way I can grab my laptop parts and stuck them in my desktop 😀 (and if there's anything I can salvage from it, the better),

I'm mostly worried about the screws and stuff like that, such as compatibility, but I'm willing to buy some parts to help with the assembly (like, a new mobo or something like that)

(I can, if needed, post pictures of the desktop and give complete specs about both PCs)

Thanks for your time,

Nope, the RAM uses a form factor called SO-DIMM that is not compatible with the standard DIMM form factor on desktop motherboards. On most laptops the GPU is usually integrated into the motherboard and can't be removed.
How about the RAM or the GPU?
Anything at all?

I'm at a budget, and I like to tinker with PCs, so anything, as little as it may be is already helping :/

I've seen a couple that do, but none are really practical for every day use. You really can't use the CD/DVD drive unless you have some form of adapter.
