[SOLVED] Ideal AM4 CPU

I'll be quick. I have a b450 aorus elite and Corsair ram. I need a CPU to pair with my Rx 580. Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 5 1600. I'll be doing a mild oc So I don't really want an X CPU. Will the ryzen 5 suffice or will I need the two extra cores. I'm tryna future proof my CPU and mobo and might upgrade the gpu down the line.

The Ryzen 1600 is good if your going to overclock and is a excellent price at $80 if you live near a Microcenter.

Still probably get the 1600, it pairs well with the RX 580 for 1080P or 1080P UW gaming. The biggest impact for AMD Ryzen is the memory so make sure it's 3000 or 3200 in dual channel. It depends on the game but the difference between 2133 & 3200 could be as high as 20 FPS.

Your welcome, yea with Ryzen 3rd gen coming out the first/second have dropped a bit in price but are still quite good if you don't mind overclocking.
